Many of us in the field of Information Technology are familiar with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), but the V-Model is an extension of that in that it also includes the Testing Life Cycle components verification and validation. What pitfalls have other organizations encountered and how can you avoid them? This presentation will explore how you can effectively apply this model to your projects and achieve success. 

How can the team work within their respective disciplines and still work as a cohesive group? What can the Project Manager do to ensure that the team reaches a consensus on business rules, design requirements, the environment, testing (unit, application, performance), and finally user acceptance testing?

So You Want to be an IT Professional?

So, you completed your coursework and you have your degree and now the learning begins. College prepares you for the workforce by providing you with the foundation skills needed to build your career in Information Technology. However the IT field is constantly evolving and new technologies continuously emerging, so as an IT Professional, you have to be prepared to handle the changes that go along with them. As a matter of fact, when you get your first job you will soon discover that you really do not know much of anything because each business is unique and each IT Shop has different business applications, processes and procedures. While companies are attempting to adopt industry best practices, there are still many nuances to the way each business manages Information Technology. Your longevity in the company will certainly depend on your technical ability, but will depend even more on your ability to adapt to the culture of the organization.
